In short
- WooCommerce keeps products, orders and customers in the WordPress database, which is in every Quick Restore backup.
- A store changes every time someone buys, so back up daily and before every update.
- Restoring a store needs care: orders placed after the backup are not in it.
What a WooCommerce backup must include
- Products: descriptions, prices, variations, stock levels and categories.
- Orders and customers: order history, addresses and account details.
- Settings: payment, shipping, tax and email settings.
- Product images in the media library.
- Extensions: payment gateways, shipping and invoice plugins with their settings.
All of this lives in the database and files that Quick Restore saves in one backup.

| Catalogue site, few orders | Weekly, plus before updates | 8 backups |

How to restore a WooCommerce store without losing orders
A restore returns the whole store to the moment of the backup. Orders placed after that moment are not in the backup. Before restoring a live store:
- Put the store in maintenance mode, or pause checkout, so no new orders arrive during the restore.
- Export or note the orders placed since the backup (WooCommerce → Orders).
- Restore the backup and check checkout with a test order.
- Re-enter or reconcile the saved orders with your payment gateway’s records.
Tip: your payment gateway and order emails are an independent record of every sale. Keep order notification emails on, so no order is ever only in the database.
Back up before WooCommerce updates
WooCommerce and its extensions update often, and major updates can change database tables. Make a manual backup right before updating, then check the shop, cart and checkout. If something breaks, restore that backup, and try the update again on a staging copy first.
Which Quick Restore plan fits a WooCommerce store
Pro Plus for any store that takes orders: daily scheduled backups, retention and emailed download links. Stores with large product image libraries also benefit from restores of any size, included from Pro. Agencies running several client stores can use Max for five sites. See Quick Restore pricing.
